Dr Fernando Castro is the Head of Materials Science and Engineering at the National Physical Laboratory, in the UK. He has been responsible for major breakthroughs in the measurement of the fundamental characteristics of printed thin film electronis, including the development of advanced photoconductive atomic force microscopy. He has extensive experience in solution based device processing, nano and micron scale characterization and he is the inventor of a transparent, flexible fabric based electrode currently under development in industry. Dr. Castro currently coordinates the multimillion European EMPIR HyMET project involving 18 partners from 7 countries. He has delivered over 40 invited keynote/plenary talks in 18 countries and has published over 60 peer reviewed papers, 3 book chapters, two patent applications, several technical reports and several abstracts in conference proceedings (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
