Guilherme Silveira Do Nascimento

Guilherme Nascimento is a Professor at the State University of Minas Gerais (UEMG). He holds a doctorate in music from the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP), a master?s degree in Communication and Semiotics from the Catholic University of Sao Paulo (PUC-SP) and a major degree in music composition from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG). He coordinates the UEMG Music Research Center. He is the author of the books "The flowered shoes don't fly" (Os sapatos floridos não voam - Sao Paulo: Annablume; Belo Horizonte: FAPEMIG, 2012) and "Minor music" (Música menor - Sao Paulo: Annablume/FAPESP, 2005) and the CDs "Guilherme Nascimento - chamber music, vols 1 and 2" (Belo Horizonte: Fundacao de Educacao Artistica, 2009). He works with arts, specially with music composition. His principal projects are in the following subjects: opera, interactions among music/literature/visual arts, Brazilian contemporary music, 20th and 21st century music. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
