Eduardo de Paula Costa gratuated in computer science at the São Paulo State University (Unesp), Brazil, in December 2005. He then joined the master program in computer science and computational mathematics from the University of São Paulo (USP), Brazil, in February 2006. He obtained his master title in March 2008. His master thesis was entitled "Investigation of hierarchical classification techniques for bioinformatics problems". In May 2008, he joined the Declarative Languages and Artificial Intelligence group at the University of Leuven (KU Leuven), Belgium, as a pre-doctoral student. After being approved in the pre-doctoral program, he started his doctoral studies in January 2009. His Ph.D. research was entitled ?Algorithms for analyzing biological sequences?. Eduardo then returned to Brazil, where he worked as a post-doctoral associate at the University of São Paulo and a temporary lecturer at the São Paulo State University. In 2014, Eduardo joined Dow AgroSciences (DAS) as a part of the Computational Biology group. During his first three years in the company he mainly worked in the Seeds Platform of the company, providing data analysis capabilities to the breeding organization. His main projects were: genome wide selection and statistical analysis for field trials. In 2017, Eduardo was one of the five winners of the NEON Great Start Award, a DAS legacy global award that recognized early-career employees across all functions in the company. Currently, he works as a lead data scientist in the Farming Solutions & Digital (FS&D) Department at Corteva Agriscience?. He is mainly involved in the development of toxicogenomics capabilities for the Crop Protection Platform. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
