Holding a PhD in Linguistics from the State University of Campinas (Unicamp Brazil), Leandro Rodrigues Alves Diniz is an associate professor at the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG Brazil), where he works specially in the field of Portuguese as an Additional Language (PAL). He was a visiting professor at the Grenoble Alpes University (UGA France) in 2019/2020, sponsored by CAPES, and a Fulbright visiting scholar at the Ohio State University (OSU - USA) in 2018. He was one of the coordinators of the PAL area at the project More Doctors for Brazil (Brazilian Ministries of Education and Health) from 2013 to 2018 and has been a member of the Certificate of Proficiency in Portuguese for Foreigners Committee (Celpe-Bras - Brazilian Ministry of Education) since 2012.
