Tiago de Assis

Tiago de Assis is a chemical engineer graduated by UFSCar (Federal University of Sao Carlos - Brazil) in 2006. He has professional experience as a production supervisor in an animal feed lysine refinery, process engineer in a fuel cell startup company and process engineer in a Brazilian bioenergy laboratory (CTBE). He is attending a master program in the Forest Biomaterials Department at NCSU and the expected finish date is 06/2016. In this master program he is performing experimental work, process simulation and techno-economic analysis for sugarcane biorefineries. The objective of his work is to study auto hydrolysis pretreatment, mechanical refining and chemical bleaching to produce low cost sugars and biofuels. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
