Graduated in Medical Biology from the Federal University of Pernambuco (1972), master's degree in Biology (Immunology) from the State University of Campinas (1990) and doctorate in Biological Sciences (Physiology) from the State University of Campinas (1996). He is currently an accredited professor in the post-graduate course at the State University of Campinas and an associate doctor at the University of São Paulo (USP). He has experience in the field of Pharmacology, with an emphasis on General Pharmacology, working mainly on the following topics: mice, allergy, nitric oxide, hydrogen sulfide (H2S) and asthma.
