Graduate in Physics (BSc) from Baghdad University (1965) and Ph.D in Physics from Massachusetts Institute Of Technology (MIT)(1971). Has research experience in Physics, focusing on Nuclear Physics, acting on the following subjects: Nuclear Reaction Theory with Application to Stable Nuclei and Neutron and/ot Proton-Rich Nuclei (Exotic Nuclei), Bose-Einstein Condensation Theory, Nuclear Astrophysics, Quantum Chaos and its Application in Mesoscopic Systems. Currently he is a Senior Professor and Coordenator of the Non-conventional Nuclear Astrophysics Group at the Institute for Advanced Studies of the University of Sao Paulo. Mahir Hussein has published over 300 papers in refereed journals with total number of citation of approximately 7355 and an H factor of 40. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
