Fernando Dotta

He holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Fundação Educacional Inaciana Padre Saboia de Medeiros (2001) and a Ph.D. in Naval and Ocean Engineering from the University of São Paulo (2006). With 20 years of experience as a Senior Mechanical Engineer, he has specialized in Solid, Elastic, and Plastic Mechanics, with an emphasis on structural analysis, damage tolerance, fatigue assessment, and structural health monitoring (SHM).Currently, he serves as Principal Engineer in the RD department at Embraer, where he is responsible for strategic planning, decision-making, and professional development of engineers. His experience includes coordinating complex projects, managing multidisciplinary teams, and delivering projects on time and within budget. He is currently coordinating an RD project on AIs for application in aeronautical engineering.He has excelled in mentoring, tutoring, and training engineers, as well as giving lectures in the Specialization in Engineering Program (PEE). His main areas of expertise include fracture mechanics, fatigue, structural health monitoring (SHM), signal processing, and artificial intelligence applied to aeronautical engineering.He currently holds five patents in the areas of structural monitoring, fleet management, morphing, and FBG.
