Sonia Regina Homem de Mello Castanho

Graduated in Materials Engineering (UFSCar, Federal University of São Carlos), Masters in Nuclear Technology (IPEN / USP, University of São Paulo) and PhD in Chemical-Ceramic Sciences (UAM / ES, Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, Spain and Institute Ceramica y Vidrio / CSIC in Spain). She is currently Senior Research Fellow and Manager of the Materials Science and Technology Center (CCTM) of the Institute of Energy and Nuclear Research (IPEN / CNEN-SP). He is Professor at the University of São Paulo (USP) in the postgraduate program Nuclear Technology - Materials. Coordinator of the research group (GP / CNPq) in Materials and Environment. Main areas: - Renewable Energy (fuel cells, catalysts and biomass) - Environmental (mitigation, inerting and rehabilitation of wastewater and by-products of extractive and industrial processes, environmental policy (Rhos, WEEE), - Biocompatible Ceramics (glass, multifunctional composites for implantology). Experience in environmental management, compositional planning materials, colloidal processing, rheology, glasses and glass-ceramics, composites and natural multifunctional nanostructures.
