Birthplace: Brazil

He is a Research Fellow at Northumbria University (Department of Sport, Exercise and Rehabilitation, Newcastle upon Tyne, UK) and supervisor in the Graduate Program in Movement Science (São Paulo State University, Brazil). His research interests focus on approaches to understanding the neural correlates of gait in the context of ageing and Parkinson?s disease and developing enhanced therapeutic strategies to address gait impairments. His projects combine the use of behavioral measures (e.g., gait spatiotemporal parameters) with mobile neuroimaging technologies (i.e., functional near-infrared spectroscopy and electroencephalography; fNIRS and EEG) for a more complete investigation of the cortical mechanisms involved in gait.
