Hugo Ayres has a Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering from the Federal University of Goias (2002), a Master and Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Campinas (2005 and 2010, respectively). From September 2007 to September 2008 he was a visiting Ph.D student in Electrical Engineering at the University of Alberta, Edmonton, Canada. Also, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of McGill, Montreal, Canada. From January of 2011 to March of 2012, I worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher Fellow at McGill University where his research goals were to improve his professional skills as well as to become a specialist in the area of intelligent distribution systems, with an emphasis on distributed generation operation, protection, and control. Currently, he holds an electrical engineer position at ATCO Electric in Edmonton since April of 2012. The focus of my position is to apply power system engineering theories, utility practices and standards in various engineering studies to develop expertise in advanced power system analysis. Mr. Ayres has experience in Electrical Engineering with emphasis on Power System Stability and Operation, Protection and Control of Distributed Generation. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
