Maicon Segalla Petrônio

He holds a degree in Pharmacy-Biochemistry from Universidade Paulista (2009) and a PhD in Biosciences and Biotechnology Applied to Pharmacy from the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences-Unesp, Campus de Araraquara (2014) with post-doctoral degrees at the Institute of Biosciences, Letters and Exact Sciences-Unesp , São José do Rio Preto and at the Hôpital du Sacré-Couer in Montréal, Canada (2018) and at the Federal University of São Paulo UNIFESP (2020). He is currently the scientific director of NPsmart, a startup based at the Araraquara Business Incubator, active in the agricultural area with solutions for the post-harvest of fruits and flowers. Its expertise lies in nanotechnology projects, developing broad-spectrum antimicrobials with synergistic action with ripening inhibitors, which favor the increase of the shelf life of fruits and flowers. He has experience in polymer synthesis and characterization, stability studies, cell culture assays (cytotoxicity, cytokine induction and/or inhibition), hemolysis assays and in vivo assays.
