Holds a degree in Biological Sciences - Bachelor's and Licentiate's degrees from the Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho (UNESP), Botucatu campus (2002), and a Master's (2007) and Doctorate (2012) in Sciences (concentration area Biology/Genetics) from the Department of Genetics and Evolutionary Biology of the Institute of Biosciences of the University of São Paulo (USP). He is currently Adjunct Professor A (Class C, Level 4) in the area of #8203;#8203;Archaeology and Anthropology of the Institute of Human and Information Sciences (ICHI) of the Federal University of Rio Grande (FURG), where he founded and coordinates the LEAB - Laboratory of Studies in Biological Anthropology, Bioarchaeology and Human Evolution, acting as a professor in the Archaeology course. He also works as a permanent professor of the Postgraduate Program in Anthropology (PPGAnt) of the Institute of Human Sciences (ICH) of the Federal University of Pelotas (UFPel). In recent years, he has participated in university management at different levels, serving as vice-director of ICHI-FURG (2021-2024), coordinator (2016-2017) and deputy coordinator (2020 and 2025-2026) of the Archaeology-FURG course, Research Ethics Committee - CEP-FURG (since 2024) and the PPGAnt-UFPel Scholarship Committee (since 2022). He is a member of the American Association of Biological Anthropologists - AABA, the Brazilian Society for the Advancement of Science - SBPC and the Brazilian Archaeology Society - SAB, of which he was part of the Southern Regional - SAB-Sul coordination in the 2023-2024 biennium. He is currently the editor of Tessituras: Journal of Anthropology and Archaeology, of PPGAnt/UFPel. He has experience in the areas of Anthropology, with emphasis on Biological Anthropology and Archaeology, and Evolutionary Biology, with scientific interest and activity mainly in the following themes: Cranial Morphology, Evolutionary Processes, Bioarchaeology, Settlement of the American Continent, Origins, Evolution and Human Microevolution and applications of Data Science and Big Data Analytics to the studies of Biological Anthropology and Archaeology.
