Peter Maurice Erna Claessens

Obtained his Master's degree in Psychology, with a research internship at the University of Viriginia, and his Doctoral degree in Psychological Sciences, with research at the Laboratory for Experimental Psychology at the Catholic University of Leuven, Leuven, Belgium. Has postdoctoral training at the Instutite for Biomedical Sciences (ICB) at the University of São Paulo (USP). Currently appointed as associate professor at the Centre of Mathematics, Computation and Cognition (CMCC) at the Federal University of ABC (UFABC), where he participated in the Interdisciplinary Unit of Applied Cognition (NINA), and currently participates in the DATAS Unit. Performs teaching and supervision activities in the Bachelor's program in Neuroscience, of which he was coordinatorm, the Bachelor's program in Science and Technology (BC&T), and in the Postgraduate Programs in Neuroscience and Cognition. Was coordinator of the university's Committee for Ethics in research (CEP) with human participants. Is currently coordinator of the Postgraduate Program in Neuroscience and Cognition. Has experience in the field of psychophysics, with emphasis on vision, and quantitative modeling of perceptual and cognitive phenomena, such as causal inference.
