Graduated in Pharmacy Biochemistry from Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho (1982), Master of Pharmacy (Clinical Analysis) from the University of São Paulo (1985) and Ph.D. in Biochemistry Sciences from the University of São Paulo (1989). Currently she is professor of the Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho. She has experience in Pharmacy, with emphasis on Immunology, acting on the following subjects: immune response in sporotrichosis, emerging fungal infection by increasing the number of cases zoonotic with the cat as the main animal carrying the disease. Through its Master's, Doctoral and Post-Doctoral studies, the role of Toll Like Receptors (TLRs) as triggers of the immune response against the S. schenckii fungus has been evaluated, as well as the role of the NLRP3 inflammasome and the receptor of dectin-1 in this infection. Regarding the treatment has evaluated the antifungal activity by the use of amphotericin B cochleate and the activity of natural products against the fungus. As for the studies of prevention and / or prophylaxis the research has advanced a lot with regard to obtaining a vaccine product in sporotrichosis. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
