Is professor for Sociology at the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC) since 2016. Studied Sociology and Political Science between 2003 and 2006 at the University of Campinas (Unicamp). In 2009 got a Master's Degree in Sociology from Unicamp with a work on Axel Honneth's theory of recognition, which was later published as a book. After a two semester period as visiting PhD Scholar at the Goethe University in Frankfurt (2012), finished a PhD Thesis at Unicamp in 2013. The dissertation discusses Honneth's debate with Nancy Fraser and formulates the concept of social derecognition. From 2014 to 2016 received a joint scholarship from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation and from Brazil's CAPES to develop a PhD research as Fellow in the Institute for Social Research in Frankfurt.
