CV Lattes

Universidade de São Paulo (USP). Instituto de Biociências (IB)  (Institutional affiliation from the last research proposal)
Birthplace: Brazil

PhD in Science (2015), presenting a project about Taxonomy and Systematics with Brazilian coralline algae at Instituto de Biociências from the Universidade de São Paulo, along with Universidad Autónoma de Baja California Sur (Mexico). Graduate at Biological Sciences (2006), working with exotic marine macroalgae and aquariophily-driven introduction of species. Master in Science (2010), focusing on the reef flora from southern Bahia state (Brazil). My trajetory as a researcher looks forward to apply traditional and molecular (DNA Barcoding) techniques on the taxonomy and systematics of marine algae, to contribute to understanding the factors and causes for the introduction of alien species and, finally, understanding species distribution related to natural and to antropological influences. As an educator, I'm concerned about really significative lessons for life and for the planet conservation, including challenges related to "nature blindness" and the relevance of our atitudes that promote environmental impacts. Intolerance and inclusion of all people are also stressed during these practices. I currently have a chair on interdisciplinary projects coordinator, as well as a teacher of Biology, Sciences and Maker Culture. I have had amazing experiences on both public and private institutions. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
