Graduated in International Agricultural Development at MidAmerica Nazarene University, Kansas, USA (1996). Obtained a Master´s degree in Tropical and Subtropical Agriculture at the Agronomic Institute of Campinas (2003), focusing on Agro-environmental Resource Management, and a PhD degree in Agronomy at the University of São Paulo´s Soil Science Department. Developed a postdoctoral project at the University of São Paulo´s Environmental Biogeochemistry Laboratory focusing on Life Cycle Assessment of agricultural products such as sugarcane ethanol, soybean biodiesel and beef, with emphasis on greenhouse gas emissions and soil carbon stocks. Participated in a research consortium focusing on Agricultural Nitrogen Use Efficiency with British and Brazilian institutions. Currently leads research on crop and soil modelling and climate impacts at the University of Leeds and the Met Office, UK. Has experience in Agronomy with emphasis on process-based modeling, having done research on the following topics: soil organic matter, ecosystems modeling, carbon and nitrogen cycles and biofuels.
