Forestry Engineer, Master and Doctor in Sciences with emphasis on Ecosystem Conservation from the University of São Paulo (ESALQ/USP). Dedicated to the themes: environmental suitability; forest restoration; ecosystem services; landscape ecology; botanical identification; family farming; Non-Timber Forest Products; sustainable livelihoods; Rural development; agroforestry systems and cocoa. I collaborated in international research projects at the Centro Agronómico Tropical de Investigación y Enseñanza (CATIE, Costa Rica); Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies (FES, USA); and the University of Freiburg (Germany). A relevant step in my career was my contribution to defining the technical parameters of the State of Acre Environmental Regularization Program (PRA-AC). Additionally, I had extensive field experience in peasant communities in rural settlements in the interior of Pará, Brazil, mainly in the municipalities of São Félix do Xingu and Anapu. As a highlight, I acted as a research consultant for the World Agroforestry Center ICRAF and as a collaborating professor in the Teaching Course of Natural Sciences in Educational Territories of the Transamazônica and Xingu (UFPA Altamira).
