Universidade de São Paulo (USP). Instituto de Matemática e Estatística (IME)  (Institutional affiliation from the last research proposal)
Birthplace: Brazil

I am a professor at the Center for Mathematics, Computing and Cognition, in UFABC, the Federal University of ABC, in Santo André, São Paulo, Brazil. I teach computer science courses and work with the development of methods for problems involving graphs, machine learning, specially in the biology, and pharmacology field. I completed my BSc, MSc and Phd degrees in Computer Science at the Institute of Mathematics and Statistics (IME) at University of Sao Paulo (USP), where I developed computational and statistical methods for analyzing random graphs and studied their asymptotic behavior. I applied them to the analysis of gene co-expression networks and brain functional networks. I was a postdoc fellow at School of Applied Mathematics (EMap) at Getúlio Vargas Foundation (FGV), where I worked with computational biology and used strategies from network medicine and collaborative filtering.
