Livre Docente at the Department of Demography, Institute of Philosophy and Human Sciences at the State University of Campinas (IFCH/UNICAMP) and researcher at the Nucleus for Population Studies Elza Berquó (NEPO/UNICAMP). Permanent Professor of the Graduate Program in Demography and the Graduate Program in History (IFCH/UNICAMP); Head of the Department of Demography (IFCH/UNICAMP, 2018-2022). She is a Historian (USP, 1982), with a Masters in History (USP, 1987) and a PhD in History Civilization (European University Institute EUI, Florence / Italy, 1998). She was a professor at the Graduate Program in History at UNISINOS (2005-2015) and Coordinator of the same Program between March 2014 and February 2015; General Secretary of the Brazilian Association of Population Studies (ABEP - 2013-2014 and 2015-2016); Alternate Member of CA-SA/CNPq (2014-2017); Associated Coordinator of the Fundação de Amparo à Pesquisa do Estado do Rio Grande do Sul (FAPERGS, 2011-2014); Member of the Panel on Historical Demography, International Union for Scientific Studies of Population (IUSSP, 2014-2022); Member of the International Committee for Historical Demography (ICHD, 2022-2026). Themes and areas of interest: family history, historical demography, population history, methodology, Portuguese emigration/immigration to Brazil.
