Núbia Bernardi

Full-time teacher and researcher, Associate Professor, at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Architecture and Urbanism of the State University of Campinas - FECFAU/UNICAMP. She has a degree in Architecture and Urban Planning from the University of São Paulo (EESC-USP- 1995), a master's degree (2001) and a doctorate (2007) in Civil Engineering from the State University of Campinas in the area of concentration in Architecture and Construction. She held the position of Head of the Department of Architecture and Construction at FECFAU from 2015 to 2018. She held the position of Associate Coordinator of the Undergraduate Course in Architecture and Urbanism and Coordinator of Final Undergraduate Works - TFG in the periods of 2012/2014 and 2021/2022. She teaches undergraduate courses (Theory and Project VII: architectural acoustics; Undergraduate Project I and II; Projective Technical Drawing of Buildings) and postgraduate courses (Performance in the Built Environment and Universal Design in Architectural Project). During her doctorate, she worked on the issue of accessibility and presented a thesis on The application of the concept of Universal Design in teaching architecture: the use of tactile maps as project readings. She conducts research on Universal Design in the Architectural Design Process and on the Architecture of Buildings for Theater and Concert Halls. She supervised 9 master's degrees, 32 scientific initiations and 54 Final Undergraduate Thesis (TFG and TFC), supervises 3 doctorate and 1 master's degree . She is a collaborator in the research group Todos Nós-Unicamp Acessível. She currently chairs the Accessibility Advisory Committee of the Executive Board of Human Rights at Unicamp. She works mainly in: Universal Design, accessibility in the built environment, spatial orientation, wayfinding, design teaching methodology, architectural design, map symbols, models and architectural tactile flowcharts, functional comfort.
