Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar), CNPq Research Productivity Fellow and senior project leader in Data Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence and Natural Language Processing. He has extensive experience in teaching, coordinating and developing research activities and qualified training in Computational Intelligence, Machine Learning and Pattern Recognition. He is Editor of Machine Learning (Springer) and Data Mining and Knowledge Discovery (Springer). He also serves as Associate Editor of Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence (special section of the journals Frontiers in Artificial Intelligence and Frontiers in Big Data). He has served as chair in several renowned conferences in the area of #8203;#8203;Artificial Intelligence, including the Journal Track of ECML-PKDD.
