Associate Professor II with the habilitation in Biochemistry at the Department of Chemistry (DQ), Faculty of Philosophy, Sciences and Letters of Ribeirão Preto (FFCLRP), University of São Paulo (USP). He is the leader of GeBIL Study Group in Biotechnology and Immunochemistry of Lipids, and advisor of Masters and PhD students in Graduate Programs (tenured faculty: Graduate Program in Biochemistry FMRP-USP; Graduate Program in Biotechnology PPGIBA-UFAM; Graduate Program in Chemistry FFCLRP-USP). He has been a Visiting Associate Professor at the University of British Columbia Vancouver/Canada (20232024) and at Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1 Lyon/France (20252026), and coordinated the research consortia ImunoCovid and AerobiCOVID at the USP Ribeirão Preto campus. He holds a B.Sc. in Chemistry (tracks: Bachelor, Teaching Degree, and Biotechnology attributions) from FFCLRP-USP (2002), PhD in Biochemistry from the Faculty of Medicine of Ribeirão Preto (FMRP-USP, 2006) Department of Biochemistry and Immunology, and completed postdoctoral training at CNRS-UMR6218, Molecular Immunopharmacology, Transgenose Institut, Université dOrléans France (20112012), as well as a sandwich postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Colorado Denver USA and the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences of Ribeirão Preto USP (20142016), with emphasis on Biochemical and Molecular Pharmacology. He worked as Laboratory Specialist (category S3) at FCFRP-USP (20032020) and has scientific expertise in lipid biochemistry and metabolism, immunology, and biotechnology. His research focuses on viral infections (COVID-19), extracellular vesicles, inflammation, tumor biology, mass spectrometry applied to biomolecules (lipidomics and metabolomics), protease activity, and enzymology of cellular metabolism (proteomics and degradomics). He has also led projects in partnership with medical and dental clinics, served as Technical Manager of Ceqil Center of Excellence in Lipid Quantification and Identification (FCFRP-USP), and has been a member of university committees, reviewer for FAPESP, CNPq, and international scientific journals, as well as Guest Editor of scientific journals.
