Graduated in Music at the University of São Paulo (1987), Pedro Paulo Salles is a Ph.D. professor at the Department of Music of the ECA, School Communications and Arts of the University of São Paulo (USP), working in undergraduate and postgraduate studies. He is coordinator of the Music Education Laboratory at the same Department and professor of the Post-Graduation in Music in the areas of Processes of Music Creation and Musicology. In the area of Music Education develops research on musical creation with children and soundscape. In the field of ethnomusicology, investigates the indigenous music that takes place in Brazil, working with the people Karajá Iny and Paresi Haliti. He is a researcher at the PAM, Research Group on Musical Anthropology, and is currently one of the coordinators of CEMA, Center for Mesoamerican and Andean Studies, where he develops studies on the iconography of the musical and sound representations of pre-Hispanic and colonial periods.
