Dr. Janini Gomes is an Assistant Professor of Exercise Physiology in the Department of Kinesiology and Sport Management. She obtained her Ph.D. in Physiology and Pathophysiology from Sao Paulo State University in Brazil. Her research interests are centered around the relationship between chronic inflammation and oxidative stress, and their contribution to skeletal muscle atrophy.
