Birthplace: Brazil

Portuguese teacher in private and public schools. I have graduated in Liberal Arts, with an emphasis in Portuguese and English languages, from the State University of Southwest Bahia (UESB). I have a Masters Degree and a Ph.D. in Linguistics from the University of Campinas (UNICAMP), Sao Paulo, Brazil. My work in scientific research is concentrated in the field of Form and Function of Natural Languages, particularly focusing on the following fields: Linguistic Analysis, Historical Linguistics, and Corpus Linguistics. I also have a scientific interest in the field of teaching Portuguese as a non-maternal language. In general, I have been researching grammatical aspects of the Portuguese language in a diachronic perspective and aspects related to learning and teaching Portuguese. In addition, I have experience in annotating and reviewing linguistic data (syntax, morphology, and semantics), having collaborated with the Tycho Brahe Parsed Corpus of Historical Portuguese and in some projects of linguistic consulting at the companies Lionbridge, Unbabel, and Celi - Technology.
