Birthplace: Brazil

Graduated in Pharmaceutical Sciences (Clinical and Toxicological Analyses), Master's, and Ph.D. in Biosciences Applied to Pharmacy. Has experience in the field of molecular parasitology, with an emphasis on developing tools for gene insertion and deletion in Neospora caninum, as well as studying molecules involved in the replication process of this parasite. In this context, contributes to the development of new drugs against N. caninum and Toxoplasma gondii. Additionally, actively participates in research on the immune response to N. caninum and Trypanosoma cruzi in murine models. Develops vectors for the recombinant expression of soluble and active proteins in Escherichia coli. Several proteins for academic purposes (NcMIC2-like1, NcCAP, and HsCLEC5A), proteases (TEV), biopharmaceuticals (PDGFbb and IFN-beta-1b), and cellulases (CelA, CelS) are under production with promising results (lower cost and scalability). This invention (Technology 1081, BR 102013020117-0) was filed with the Brazilian Patent and Trademark Office (INPI) in 2013, and the patent was granted in 2022. Another patent, describing the pGEM-pET28 plasmid, was granted in 2023 (BR 102013020116-2). A third invention, focused on constitutive expression (plasmid), was granted in 2024 (BR1020160047331). Furthermore, methods were developed for obtaining an unlimited number of protein tags for the solubilization, stabilization, and labeling of recombinant proteins, particularly for E. coli (BR 102019000535-1, granted in 2025). One of the main research focuses is the development of low-cost assays for drug evaluation targeting enzymes, which reveal complementary mechanisms of action in cellular and parasitic models. Also develops new analytical assays, such as cytotoxicity determination in cells using phenothiazinium dyes. Founder of SolID Biotecnologia and currently a partner at Gene de Yebá Biotecnologia. Currently serves as a faculty member for health science courses (basic cycle) and the biomedicine program at Estácio University, Ribeirão Preto campus. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
