Birthplace: Brazil

Graduated in Pharmaceutical Sciences (Clinical and Toxicological Analysis) with master's and doctorate degrees in Biosciences Applied to Pharmacy. He has experience in molecular parasitology, with an emphasis on the development of tools for the insertion and deletion of genes in Neospora caninum, including the study of molecules related to the replication process of this parasite. In this sense, he participates in the development of new drugs against N. caninum and Toxoplasma gondii. Besides, he actively participates in research related to the immune response of N. caninum and Trypanosoma cruzi in a murine model. He also develops vectors for recombinant expression of soluble and active proteins in Escherichia coli. Several proteins for academic use (NcMIC2-like1, NcCAP and HsCLEC5A), proteases (TEV), biopharmaceuticals (PDGFbb) and cosmetic components (TRx, PRx and SOD) have been applied for soluble production, with promising results (lower cost and simple escalation). Also, he has developed methods for obtaining an infinite number of protein tags for solubilization, stabilization and labelling of recombinant proteins, especially for E. coli. One of the research focuses is the development of new low-cost assays for evaluating drugs in enzymes, which usually indicates complementary mechanisms of action in cellular and parasitic models. Founder of SolID Biotechnology and currently a partner of Gene de Yebá Biotechnology. He has worked as a professor of the biomedicine course at the Estácio University of Ribeirão Preto.
