Birthplace: Brazil

W. B. S. Machini obtained a PhD degree in Chemistry - Electrochemistry specialization in 2019 from University of Coimbra, a MSc degree in Chemistry in 2015 from São Paulo State University (IBILCE/UNESP - Brazil), and a Licentiate?s degree in Chemistry in 2012 from São Paulo State University (FCT/UNESP - Brazil). His MSc was funded by the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP Brazil/MSc Grant 13/10469-6), as well as his PhD was entirely funded by the Brazilian National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPQ Brazil/PhD Grant 232296/2014-6). His research activities have been focused on: Development of nanotechnological sensors devices applied to medical diagnosis and treatment, environment monitoring, security and food quality control; Investigation of the electrochemical behaviour and electron transfer mechanisms of drugs, proteins and DNA; And investigation in situ and in real time of the interaction mechanisms between drugs, proteins, hazard compounds and DNA, and between pigments, biological compounds and proteins. As result of these years of research in the Electrochemistry field, W. B. S. Machini published 16 articles in international peer-reviewed journals, with 77 citations and h-index = 6. W. B. S. Machini was non-PhD Integrated Researcher (2015-2019) in the Materials and Processes Group at the Centre for Mechanical Engineering, Materials and Processes CEMMPRE (Research Unit nº 285 of the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology, rated as ?Excellent?), having recently been invited to be a PhD researcher collaborator (2020-). He is member of the International Society of Electrochemistry (ISE), Bioelectrochemistry Society (BES), Sociedade Portuguesa de Química (SPQ), and invited referee to international journals Electroanalysis, Materials Science & Engineering C: Biomimetic Materials, Sensors and Systems and Australian Journal of Chemistry. He established national and international collaborations with research groups from Portugal, Romania and Brazil. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
