PhD in History (2019) Area: Social History (Research Line: Social History of Culture), from Unicamp; Masters degree in History (2012) Area: Politics, Memory, and the City (Research Line: Culture, City, and Heritage), from the same university. Bachelors degree in History from UFMG (2006). Specialist in Cultural Heritage Management and Conservation from IFMG-Ouro Preto (2024). Has experience in the field of History (research and teaching). Former grantee of the Knowledge Dissemination Support Program (ADC) from CNPq, through the project Passados Presentes: Patrimonies and Black and Afro-Indigenous Memories in Minas Gerais, based at the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (UFJF). Member of the management team of the same project. Participated, in a coordination role, in the team responsible for preparing the dossier Saberes do Rosário: Reinados, Congados, and Congadas in Brazil, produced by CAMPO Consultancy and IPHAN in 2022, within the scope of the ongoing heritage recognition process of the Reinados, Congados, and Congadas in Brazil, by IPHAN. Lecturer at the Latin American Faculty of Social Sciences (FLACSO-Brazil) (20202023) and Visiting Professor at UFMG (2018 and 2022). Co-curator of the exhibitions O JOGO DA LIBERDADE: Capoeira in Belo Horizonte (1960s, 1970s, 1980s) (2025); NDÊ! Afro-Brazilian Trajectories in Belo Horizonte (Abílio Barreto Historical Museum 2018 to 2020); Palácio da Liberdade, Black Readings and the Program Heritage, City, and Blackness (IEPHA-MG/APPA-Arte e Cultura 2019); and of the debate and performance series NKANDA: Afro-Diasporic Heritage in Minas Gerais (IEPHA-MG/APPA-Arte e Cultura 2020). Member of the management board of the Associação Cultural Casa do Beco. As a researcher, has worked on themes related to freedom experiences in Brazil, such as: Post-Emancipation (Brazil), History of Racism in Brazil, social representations, Traditional African-Based Communities, memory, favelas, urban history, cities, and Belo Horizonte-MG. Affiliate of the Associação Brasileira de Pesquisadores Negros (ABPN). Member of the research group Africanidades BH EAD-UFMG, part of the coordination of the Working Group Emancipations and Post-Abolition (GTEP-Anpuh 20232025) and of its Minas Gerais section.
