Luiz Gustavo Antonio de Souza

Tenured Professor at the Federal Fluminense University (UFF), with a solid academic and professional background in Finance, Energy Economics, and Technological Innovation. Holds a Ph.D. in Applied Economics from the University of São Paulo (ESALQ-USP), has completed three postdoctoral fellowships at the University of Campinas (UNICAMP), and holds graduate specializations in Data Science Analytics (USP), Finance and Managerial Accounting (USP), and Distance Education Planning and Management (UFF). Serves as a collaborating professor in the Professional Master's Program in Management and Innovation in the Animal Industry (FZEA-USP), focusing on Energy Economics and Sustainability. His career combines a strong theoretical foundation with practical applications, particularly in areas such as investment appraisal, risk analysis, working capital management, energy policy, bioeconomy, and financing of clean technologies. He develops applied research on energy transition, carbon emissions, cost of capital, and regulatory frameworks in the energy sector, including projects funded by FAPESP, such as analytical studies on Brazils RenovaBio program. He has experience developing Business Intelligence (BI) systems to support both public and private management, emphasizing operational efficiency, financial control, and economic sustainability. In addition to his scientific production in peer-reviewed journals and academic events, he has extensive teaching experience in Public Finance, Energy Economics, Project Evaluation, Budgetary Accounting, and Resource Management. Previously served as an officer and professor at the Brazilian Air Force Academy (AFA), where he worked with budget planning, logistics, and strategic project management. Currently serves as Financial Director of TEC Incubator, a member of the Fiscal Council of the Brazilian Bioenergy Society (SBE), and an associate of the Geneva Innovation Movement (GIM), reinforcing his institutional engagement and contribution to innovation and sustainable development.
