Amanda Soares Giroto

I hold a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar), with a research internship at the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), where I investigated the solubilization of nanometric phosphates in polymeric matrices. My doctorate, completed in 2018, was funded by FAPESP. I also earned a master's degree in Chemistry from UFSCar, focusing on nanocomposites for the controlled release of agricultural pesticides, and a bachelor's degree in Chemistry from the Federal University of Lavras (UFLA), where I researched the oxidation of organic contaminants using amphiphilic catalysts. I have conducted postdoctoral research at EMBRAPA Instrumentation in Brazil and Forschungszentrum Jülich in Germany, both funded by FAPESP, working on the development of new materials and controlled-release fertilizers. Additionally, I collaborated as a researcher at the Federal University of São Paulo (UNIFESP) in EMBRAPII projects aimed at creating innovative biofertilizers from industrial waste. My scientific career focuses on the development of new materials, nanocomposites, and sustainable fertilizers, with an emphasis on improving soil fertility and optimizing resource efficiency.
