Uruguayan, born in Montevideo. He graduated in mathematics from Udelar in 2005. In 2006 he obtained his Master's degree in mathematics at the University of Toronto under the supervision of Mike Shub. At the same university he completed his PhD in early 2011 under the supervision of Charles Pugh and Mike Shub, specializing in dynamical systems and smooth ergodic theory. He has done postdoctoral studies at IMPA (2011-2013), under the direction of Enrique Pujals, at the ICMC supervised by Ali Tahzibi (2013-2014), and at Penn State University, supervised by Federico Rodriguez-Hertz (2015-2016). He is currently an assistant professor at the Federal University of Minas Gerais, where he has been working since 2017. During this period he has been guiding doctoral, master and undergrad scientific students. He has been a guest lecturer at several international events, and has published in specific journals in the area, having also acted as a reviewer.
