Jeany Delafiori is a researcher and consultant in metabolomics and data analysis. She completed her postdoctoral training in the Department of Pharmacology at the University of California San Diego (UCSD) in 20242025, in Dr. Theodore Alexandrovs laboratory, where she continues to collaborate on single-cell metabolomics projects, applying mass spectrometry to cancer biomedical research and precision medicine. From 2021 to 2024, she worked in the same group as a metabolomics specialist at the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) in Heidelberg, Germany. During this period, she took part in interdisciplinary projects involving spatial and single-cell metabolomics. She holds a Bachelors degree in Pharmacy (2017) and a Ph.D. in Sciences (2022) from the University of Campinas (UNICAMP), Brazil. Her doctoral research focused on the application of metabolomics to the study of viral diseases (ZIKA and COVID-19), contributing to the understanding of hostpathogen interactions and the identification of infection biomarkers. During her undergraduate studies, she carried out research in Organic Chemistry with an emphasis on Biocatalysis at the Institute of Chemistry (IQ/UNICAMP) in 2012, and in mass spectrometry applied to cosmetology at the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences (FCF/UNICAMP) in 2013. In 2014, she participated in an academic exchange program in Analytical Chemistry at the Cork Institute of Technology, Ireland, through the Science Without Borders program.
