Gabriel Zazeri

I am currently an Assistant Professor in the Physics Department at the Federal University of Roraima (UFRR) - Paricarana Campus, a CNPEM/SIRIUS Ambassador, and a faculty member in the Graduate Program in Biodiversity and Biotechnology of the BIONORTE Network (PPG BIONORTE). I have research experience in the fields of Physics/Biophysics/Natural Products Chemistry, both experimental and computational, with an emphasis on investigating molecular interactions between proteins, peptides, and small molecules (natural products) with pharmacological interest.He has a solid background in computational modeling, working with molecular docking, molecular dynamics, interaction free energy calculation and ab initio electronic structure calculations.In the experimental approach, he has a solid background in steady-state fluorescence spectroscopy, time-resolved fluorescence, UV-VIS absorption and circular dichroism.He has complementary expertise in protein expression and purification, nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), atomic force microscopy (AFM), scanning and transmission electron microscopy.The research targets include proteins with different functions and his main interest is the characterization of these proteins with small molecules and peptides of pharmacological interest.In addition to research, Gabriel has administrative experience where he held positions as Head of the Physics Department, Presidency of the Research Committee/UFRR and participated in committees for the analysis of course credits, as well as providing guidance on undergraduate thesis projects.
