Gil Vicente Nagai Lourencao

I am a post-doctoral researcher at the Center for Oriental Studies at PUCSP and a research fellow at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Tsukuba, Japan. Additionally, I am a post-doctoral researcher at the Group for Interdisciplinary Studies in Science and Technology (GEICT) at the Department of Science and Technology Policy, Unicamp. I have received grants from CNPq, Capes, Fapesp, and Monbukagakusho.My expertise lies in Social and Cultural Anthropology, where I am currently working on the following subjects: Social Studies of Science, Anthropology of and in Japan, Japanese Martial Arts and Ways, Notions and theories about the body, cyborg and cybernetic theories, and human-machine interfaces. I have written on various topics such as cybernetics and cyborgs, science and scientific production, Do it yourself Biology, Japanese martial ways, Transnationalism, Transculturalism, International Migration, and modes of Japaneseness.I am affiliated with several professional associations and research groups, including the Center for Oriental Studies (CEO-PUCSP), Languages, Technologies and Post-Humanism (LITPOS-UNICAMP), Group for Interdisciplinary Studies in Science and Technology (GEICT-UNICAMP), Migration Studies Laboratory (LEM-UFSCar), Study Group on Budo and Japanese Martial Ways (Bud#333; Kenkyukai-UFES), Association of Japanese Government Scholars (ABMON), Brazilian Anthropology Association (ABA), Society for Social Studies of Science-4S, American Association of Anthropology (AAA), Japanese Academy of Bud#333;, and Japanese Association of Cultural Anthropology.
