Rudolf F. P. Paternost obtained a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of São Paulo, Brazil (2017), and a master's degree in the same field from the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP), Brazil (2019). In July 2024, he completed a Ph.D. degree in Automotive Engineering for Intelligent Mobility from the University of Bologna, Italy. During this period, he was also involved as a teaching assistant for engineering courses and, from May to September 2023, was a Visiting Ph.D. Candidate at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Delft University of Technology (TU Delft), Netherlands. His activities have focused on proposing solutions to modernize the electrical infrastructure of catenary-powered transportation systems, preparing them to integrate emerging technologies such as in-motion-charging vehicles and energy storage systems, which are expected to become prevalent in the future. He is currently a postdoctoral researcher at the Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering at UNICAMP, and his current research focuses on power electronic converters applied to electric bus charging.
