I have a Bachelor's degree in social sciences, with emphasis in anthropology, and a master's and Ph.D degree in social anthropology from the Federal University of São Carlos. My research experience is in the field of anthropology of religion, focusing on questions about the notion of person, sacrifice, gift, philanthropy and circulation. I conducted research on the notions of person and salvation in the Seventh-day Adventist Church and on the circulation of gifts, reciprocity, and hierarchy in Kardecist spiritualism. My current research interests encompasses the economic and ideological dynamics present in religious philanthropy through a comparative perspective. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
