Paula de Arruda Castro Giavarotto

Hi, my name is Paula! I have a degree in Architecture from FAU USP and Scenography and Costume Design from SP Escola de Teatro. I work with art direction and production for audiovisuals, as well as set design for events, festivals and art installations.In recent years, I've worked on audiovisual projects for streams such as HBO Max, Disney Plus, Globo Play and major production companies such as Gullane, Intropictures and Paris Filmes. However, I've never stopped working in independent Brazilian cinema, with projects approved by the Rouanet Law, Aldir Blanc and PROAC, as well as a nomination for the 2024 Emmy Awards in the Best Documentary Film category, helping a little bit to take Brazilian cinema around the world. In face-to-face scenography, I've had the opportunity to develop projects for institutions such as Sesc SP, the Goethe Institute, Oceana, São Paulo City Hall, the National Museum in Brasilia and Pimp my Carroça.Briefly contextualising the theme of my artistic research, in both audiovisual and on-site scenography, I seek to produce new sensory and visual experiences through design solutions that prioritise environmental responsibility, sustainability and the creative and technological use of unconventional materials connected to new interfaces, thinking new ways of producing, ways of inhabiting and intervening in cities through art and technology.For me, materialising dreams, building sensitive spaces and transforming experiences in a collective way is what, definitely, drives me.
