He holds a bachelor's and a bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences from São Paulo State University (UNESP), Botucatu campus; a master's degree in Zoology from the University of São Paulo (USP), and a PhD in Evolutionary Biology from the University of Zurich, Switzerland. He has experience in herpetofauna biology and diversity, population genetics, invasive species biology, conservation, ecology, and evolutionary biology. Interested in various areas of biology, he explores diverse topics and conducts interdisciplinary research (genetics, morphology, behavior).He is currently an adjunct researcher at the National Institute for Amazonian Research (INPA), serving as director of the Amazonian Chelonian Study Center (CEQUA) and as deputy curator of the herpetology collection.
