graduate at Ciências Biológicas Modalidade Médica from Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho (2002), master's and doctorate at Microbiology (Genetics and Molecular Biology) from Universidade Estadual de Campinas (MSc 2006; DSc 2010). Acted as a Post Doctorate Fellow at the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (2010-2013). Currently works as Professor Adjunto (tenured) in Environmental Microbiology, in the Marine Sciences Department, Baixada Santista Campus, of the Universidade Federal de São Paulo. Has experience in Microbiology, focusing on Virology, acting mainly on the following subjects: bacteriophages (isolation and characterization), phage therapy, metagenomics and metatrancriptomics (bacterioplankton and marine holobionts), including bioprocesses, and environmental virology.
