Lukas Gabriel Grzybowski

Associate Professor in the concentration area of Ancient and Medieval History at the State University of Londrina. PhD from the Universität Hamburg, with a thesis on the political virtue conceptions in the works of Otto of Freising and Bernard of Clairvaux. Since 2015, researching the history of Scandinavia in the Middle Ages, including the Viking Age, especially focusing on topics related to religion/religious practices, Christianization, and paganism. Author also on the following topics: power and culture in the Middle Ages, power relations in the late Portuguese Middle Ages, medieval castles and fortresses, imperial political society in the second half of the 11th and 12th centuries, medieval historiography. From 2015 to 2016, developed a research project at the University of São Paulo (Postdoctoral) on the Christianization process of Scandinavia in the Middle Ages based on Adam of Bremen's account. Founder and coordinator of the Medieval Scandinavia Readings research group. From September 2016 to September 2018, served as a lecturer (CRES) in the area of Ancient and Medieval History at the Department of History of the State University of Londrina (UEL). From July 2018 to February 2019, developed the research project "Perception of Religious Change: Mission, Conversion, and Christianization in Northern Europe and the Formation of Christian Religion" under the CAPES National Postdoctoral Program. Treasurer of the Brazilian Association of Medieval Studies (ABREM) in the terms 2017-2019 and 2019-2021.
