Biologist in Biological Sciences with a bachelor's degree from the Federal University of Espírito Santo (2010), with experience in forest phytosociology, a master's degree in Botany from the Rio de Janeiro Botanical Garden Research Institute (2013), where he worked with the taxonomy of Myrtaceae, and a PhD from the University of São Paulo, acquiring experience in the area of #8203;#8203;Evolution, Taxonomy and Plant Systematics, mainly of Myrtaceae from the Neotropical region. He has a post-doctorate from the Institute of Biosciences (USP) studying phylogenomics and diversification of Eugenia (Myrtaceae). He is currently a tenured professor at the Faculty of Biological and Environmental Sciences (FCBA) of the Federal University of Grande Dourados (UFGD). He is a permanent professor of the Postgraduate Program in Biodiversity (FCBA/UFGD), curator of the DDMS Herbarium (since 2022), and Coordinator of the Bachelor's Degree in Biological Sciences (since 2023). Myrtaceae occur on all continents except Antarctica. Estimates of numbers of Myrtaceae world-wide suggest between 4600-5800 species.
