An art historian specialising in the artistic practices and princely iconography of the 18th century, Felipe Corrêa holds a PhD and a Masters degree in History (with a focus on Art History) from the State University of Campinas, and a Bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Arts and Design from the Federal University of Juiz de Fora. From the outset of his undergraduate studies, his academic path was oriented towards Art History. In 2010, he took part in an undergraduate academic exchange programme at the University of Siegen in Germany, where he studied modules in Art History. Upon returning to Brazil, he participated, between 2011 and 2012, in the undergraduate research project "Brazilian History Painting in International Exhibitions from 1861 to 1933", coordinated by Professor Dr Maraliz de Castro Vieira Christo. In January and February of 2014, just before commencing his Masters degree, he was awarded a scholarship for the DAAD (Deutscher Akademischer Austausch Dienst) winter course in Düsseldorf. In 2017, he defended his Masters dissertation entitled "An Afternoon in the Netherlands: the Representation of Landscape in the Work of Willem Roelofs", within the Postgraduate Programme in History at the State University of Campinas, in the field of Art History. It was within this same programme that Felipe developed his doctoral thesis on the iconography of Mesdames, daughters of Louis XV. As part of his research, he spent time at the Centre de recherche du château de Versailles, which enabled extensive research into primary sources and the creation of an inventory of their portraits.
