He holds a degree in Medicine from the Federal University of Espírito Santo (1996), a Neurologist from Unifesp (2001), a specialist in Sleep Medicine from Unifesp (2003), a Master's degree in Medical and Biological Sciences from the Federal University of São Paulo (2005) and a PhD in Medical and Biological Sciences from the Federal University of São Paulo (2009). He was a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Toronto in Neurology/Sleep Medicine (Sunnybrook Hospital) from 2009 to 2011 and at Harvard Medical School (Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital) in 2023. He is an Associate Full Professor of Discipline of Neurology, Department of Neurology and Neurosurgery, UNIFESP.
