Universidade Estadual Paulista (UNESP). Campus de Rio Claro. Instituto de Biociências (IB)  (Institutional affiliation from the last research proposal)
Birthplace: Brazil

She is working with invasive grasses in open physiognomies of Cerrado for more than 10 years, since her undergrad studies. At that time, she investigated competitive relationships between invasive and native grass species. At her master study she tested fire as a management technique to control invasive grasses; and now her PhD is more focused on theoretical aspects of invasive grasses on Cerrado. In an invasion gradient, she is investigating if there is a threshold in the abundance of Urochloa brizantha that pose a threat to Cerrado native plant communities. However, her project has also an applied component, as by using prescribed burnings she is looking at how these interventions could be useful to restore degraded invaded areas (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
