Mathews Vichr Lopes

Architect and Urban Planner from the School of Architecture and Urbanism at the University of São Paulo (2018). Currently pursuing a Direct PhD in Environmental Sciences at the Institute of Energy and Environment at the University of São Paulo (2022) (PROCAM/IEE/USP), focusing on the implementation of public policy instruments for the adaptation of agriculture to climate change. He is an advisor in the Office of the Ministry of Agrarian Development and Family Farming - MDA (2024-present). He was the Manager of Productive Chains at the São Paulo Development Agency (ADE SAMPA), linked to the São Paulo City Hall (2023). He was Project Manager at the Agriculture Coordination Office, Municipal Secretariat for Economic Development and Labor (2022-23). He worked on the "Ligue os Pontos" Project of the São Paulo City Hall - Municipal Secretariat for Urban Development (2016-22), funded by Bloomberg Philanthropies in the Government Innovation category, to strengthen the southern rural area of the city. He holds a specialization in sustainability from the Gaia Education Foundation (2020-21). He was part of the ObservaSP project (https://observasp.wordpress.com/) in collaboration with the Public Space and Right to the City Laboratory - LabCidade FAUUSP (2016-17). His interests include Public Policy Implementation, Agriculture, Climate Change, Territorial, Urban, Environmental, and Rural Planning, Habitat, Governance, Information and Communication Technologies, Social Participation, and Government Innovation.
