Francisco holds a bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences, a master?s, and a doctor's degree in Ecology from the University of São Paulo with a 1-year period as visiting student at the University of Cambridge, in England. He is currently a researcher at the International Institute for Sustainability (IIS). His main interests are related to the use of science to support public policies and decision-making, regarding biodiversity conservation.
