Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering awarded by DTU (2006). Master of Science in Bioengineering awarded by DTU in conjunction with its partner institution, the University of Copenhagen (2008). Exchange student at the University of Strathclyde from 2005 to 2006, affiliated with the departments of Bioengineering, Mathematics and Pharmacology. Exchange student at the University of São Paulo from 2007 to 2008, affiliated with the Heart Institute - InCor - to the Nuclear and Energy Research Institute - IPEN - and to the post-graduate programme in Bioengineering at the University of São Paulo in São Carlos. Visiting Researcher at the University of Leeds working on a cardiovascular bioreactor project (2009). Worked as principal scientist in the pharmaceutical industry in Cambridge, England, on various projects including several bioreactors and a project for large-scale production of collagen-based tissues, with applications in In Vitro Testing and Regenerative Medicine (2009-2012). Has experience in the areas of bioreactors, tissue engineering, organ engineering, regenerative medicine, kidneys, cardiovascular surgery, ophthalmology and biomaterials. Between 2014 and 2016 affiliated with the National Institute of Science and Technology in Biofabrication-BIOFABRIS, a multi-centric institute with headquarters at Unicamp-Faculty of Chemical Engineering, being responsible for the introduction and implementation of new research programmes in the areas of bioreactors, tissue engineering and regenerative medicine. Was invited to join the Albert Einstein Hospital as a Visiting Researcher in 2015, where he was engaged in different bioengineering projects, with a view of applications for technological innovations. In 2016, the affiliation with HIAE was suspended to allow for a complete dedication to Research and Development activities at Eva Scientific, the company which he founded in 2016 that offers products for tissue engineering and bioreactors. Reviewer for the Journal of Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine (Wiley) since 2010. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
